Solar Energy Manufacturing – The Most Sought After Way To Save Nature
In today’s times when pollution
has augmenting like nothing else, the life of our planet is at greater risk and
needs prompt attention of ours. Though we humans are bringing in more advanced
technologies and launching plantation drives, the possibilities of planet
revival are pretty less and we need to change our approach towards energy
generation and its consumption. At present, it can be easily said that solar
energy presents a bright future in this regard.
The whole objective behind using
solar energy is to harness the power of sun to make life easy. As per the data
of 2011, the advancements produced less than one tenth of just one per cent of
global energy requirements. When it comes to Solar Energy Manufacturing, the
role of photovoltaic cells is paramount that are typically found on objects
such as spacecraft, rooftops and handheld calculators. These cells are made of
semiconductor materials such as those found in computer chips. When sunlight is
places on the cells, it makes electrons release from their atoms. As the
electrons flow through the cell, they result into electricity generation.
In case of large scale Solar System, solar-thermal power plants make the use of various techniques to focus
the sun's energy as a heat source. The heat is then employed to heat up water
to initiate a steam turbine that produces electricity in much the same way as
coal and nuclear power plants, delivering electricity for millions of people.
On a primary note, long channels
of U-shaped mirrors with direction on sunlight are fixed to a pipe of oil that
runs through the middle. The hot oil then boils water for electricity
generation. Another wayemploys moveable mirrors to focus the sun's rays on a
collector tower, where a receiver rests. Molten salt flowing through the receiver
is heated to move a generator.
Other solar methodologies are
found to be submissive. For instance, large windows fixed on the sunny side of
a building enable sunlight to heat-absorbent materials on the floor and walls.
These surfaces then loose the heat at night to make the building warm. In the
same way, absorbent plates placed on a roof can warm liquid in tubes that
supply a house with hot water.
